We are in-network providers for most Medicare plans, and Health First Colorado. Our practice is an open-access provider for all other vision plans allowing you to utilize your benefits even if we are out-of-network. We will help you coordinate your benefit reimbursement. Important Changes at Envision Boulder effective January 1, 2024

Dear valued patient,

We are making an important change at Envision Boulder. Effective January 1, 2024, we will no longer be participating with the insurer Vision Service Plan as in-network providers. While we have been a member of Vision Service Plan’s preferred network for several decades, it has been increasingly difficult to continue our contract with VSP due to rising costs and their unwillingness to fairly reimburse for services and materials. Our primary goal at Envision Boulder is, as always, to provide our patients with the highest quality of care, technology, and materials. We are uncompromising in our effort to provide you with this level of service.

What does this mean for you as our patient? This change does not exclude you from receiving eyecare and eyewear benefits in our office if you have VSP insurance. As long as your plan allows the option for you to see an out-of-network provider, you are eligible to receive insurance benefits for services and products provided here. Please contact VSP for more information about your out-of-network benefits. We are happy to help provide you with the paperwork to file claims for reimbursement for the routine exam and materials.

We will continue to accept medical insurance plans including Medicare and most commercial medical insurance plans. HSA/FSA can be used for any exams and materials. Many VSP patients also have medical insurance. If there is a medical based problem we can typically file your care with your medical insurance provider. Routine & wellness vision screening exams are not covered under medical plans. Please contact us with questions regarding your insurance.
